Reception for Candidates for Texas Senate
in Galveston County on July 24 — We
will need volunteers for this most important event. If you cannot help,
please attend to show support. To volunteer or RSVP, criss2802@aol.com.
Event starts at 5:30 so volunteers need to be there at 5:00 PM. SD17
folks, here is your chance to really get involved in changing Texas.
The
Galveston Election Headquarters will be very important this year. It is
located in the Democratic Party's base. This is where we win or lose these
November elections.
All the Headquarters around the County will need many volunteers and lots
of supplies. Help near your area or anywhere you want. Just help, please.
Plan now to help with your Time, Talent, and Treasure.
Information will follow on Galveston, Texas City 25th St., and North
County.
We will be using volunteers wherever possible to keep costs down.
Wow! What a great 4th of
July Galveston Parade. Biggest crowd on the sidelines in the 5 years we
have participated. We got lots of cheers and outdid the Republicans. No
comparison.
Congratulations to the ongoing elected Democrats. The Labor group
re-elected John Patrick to the Democratic National Committee. The
Caucus from SD11 elected Loretta Davis SDEC Galveston County and
Joe Parra SDEC Brazoria.

month. Executive Committee meets at 6:15 PM. General Meeting begins
at 7:00 PM. Location alternates between Boilermakers Union Hall #132, 2930

Marcey
Casey, Club President —
Posted July 20, 2008: I think
that we are definitely in election season! I have added some new events
below. Check them out. Our biggest one is the receptions for Joe
Jaworski and Chris Bell this week. Please join us to show them
our support. Heck! Bring a friend!
There were lots of interesting tidbits this week:
Here is a
chart comparing McCain's tax cut
proposals vs. Obama's. Notice how much goes to the super wealthy with
McCain.
State of Play from Texas Monthly talks about some of our candidates.
Chris Bell and Joe Jaworski. And Laura Ewing is singled
out for her race against David Bradley. She is the only one in all the
SBOE races. Hmmm.
